The exhibition, sponsored by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), UNICEF Italy, the Veneto Region, the Municipality of Venice, the Ca 'Foscari University, the Ateneo Veneto, assembles a series of personal objects belonging to the hundreds of people who - hoping to reach European territory - they attempted to cross the short stretch of sea that separates the Turkish coast from the Greek Island of Lesbos. Many of them didn't make it. The objects - clothes, shoes, feeding bottles, life jackets and much more - were photographed by the author as they were found on the shore and subsequently collected to form, together with the images, the corpus of an exhibition that aims to restore dignity to the anonymous stories of those to whom they belonged.
